Port Lincoln - Local Environ's Oct. Dec.15

After tripping all over the country, it's time to CHILL out and visit local attractions

As Port Lincoln is recognized as the 'Seafood Capital of Australia' we intend to catch our own seafood

Local CSF had a demo day at Tumby Bay so we dropped in - Off 0730hrs to Tumby for the fire bombing demo – via the Ritz for breakfast – bugger, the new owner’s only open at 0900hrs – Breakfast at Chooks & TJ’s – fresh farm eggs, Ashley showed up also – fire bomber demo stated an hour late 1030hrs but worth the wait.

After a busy day at Far Away Farm - Out for tea as 'Roast night' at the Northern Hotel– crap - meats all dried out, veg over cooked, very disappointing. How ever meet a lady at the buffet looking for cutlery etc, pointed her in the right direction, stating she was a bit weary as they had just arrived from Adelaide – driving all day. On leaving a quick comment ‘enjoy your meal and hope you get some rest’, followed by ‘are you on holiday’ – Oh my husband born here etc. Oh I am a local also – Cowley – She almost fell off her chair as they introduce themselves Jimmy and Anne Blackwood – they were assisting Aunty Kath and Uncle Kevin with gardening and house chores.
The Blackwoods attended the same Rostrevor Baptist Church which Martin (Son of Kevin and Kath) and Rose Cowley still attend. Small world!!

Cooked breakfast before heading to the park – Friends of the Park – Day out in the Park. Interesting talks on the first explorers, trees and birds in the park.

We split up into groups and did a quick bird walk and identified at least 13 birds within 300mtrs

All organised and on the road 0740hrs – thru town with no traffic. Horse Rock camp site occupied = bugger, 28ks. Head to RSS and we are in, sadly the picnic table has been destroyed – burnt! And the camp site littered with dunny paper.

All set up by 1130hrs, coming face to face with a King Brown snake whilst on my hands and knees pegging / screwing the annexe down.

Tiller Joints on the awning have seen better days - lasted 14 years and in some extreme conditions - all replaced and stainless steel bolts

- all replaced and stainless steel bolts, and nylex lock nuts. Cross wire also changed out with Stainless Steel wire.

Rec'd a call just as we were departing Lincoln to visit the Far Away Farm before we take off on holidays to Thailand - Tommy did not survive the Vet's de-nutting.

Seems Tommy aspirated some fluids after the procedure - burial in the Pool yard.
